Dr. Marcellino D’Ambrosio will lead a two-day Lenten Mission on the “Seven Deadly Sins – Virtues, Vices, Sin & the Conscience” April 8 and 9 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the St. David the King Church, Princeton Junction.
Father Jason Parzynski, parish pastor, said the topic for the mission was chosen based on questions people have been asking and “since Lent is a time of personal reflection and spiritual growth, this topic felt particularly relevant.”
Father Parzynski added, “the them of virtues and vices speak directly to the Lenten call to conversion, making it a meaningful focus for reflection.”
D’Ambrosi is a senior fellow of The St. Paul Center for Biblical Theology, a scholar specializing in the interpretation of Scripture and Tradition. He is also a popular speaker, retreat leader and pastoral minister with a special interest in teen evangelization and Hispanic ministry.
D’Ambrosio earned a doctoral degree in historical theology from The Catholic University of America, Washington. His dissertation, written under the direction of Cardinal Avery Dulles, S.J., focused on Cardinal Henri de Lubac, S.J., and his recovery of the biblical interpretation of the early Church Fathers. D’Ambrosio’s book, Exploring the Catholic Church has been used in hundreds of parishes all throughout the English speaking world. He also contributed to Abingdon’s Dictionary of Biblical Interpretation.
The founder of Crossroads Initiative, an apostolate of Catholic renewal and evangelizations, his writings have been published in the international journal Communio, The Tablet, Catholic Digest, Our Sunday Visitor and Catholic News Service’s syndicated column “Faith Alive.” He often appears on the international Eternal Word Television Network and is regularly heard on the nationally syndicated radio show “Catholic Answers Live.“ D’Ambrosio and his wife Susan, along with their five children, live outside of Dallas, Texas.
St. David the King is located at 1 New Village Rd., Princeton Junction.
