Young adult retreat scheduled March 1

February 19, 2025 at 4:23 p.m.

“Through God’s Eyes” will serve as the theme of a retreat for young adults ages 18 to 39 to be held March 1 in St. Thomas More Church, 186 Gordons Corner Rd., Manalapan.

Hosted by the diocesan Department of Youth and Young Adult Ministry, the daylong retreat will begin at 10:30 a.m. and end after the 4:30 p.m. parish Mass.

Keynote speaker will be Kate Capato, a Catholic, professional  sacred art painter and inspirational speaker who uses her art as part of her witness. She creates oil paintings inspired by prayer and the powerful church teachings. She is greatly influenced by Pope John Paul II’s teachings on The Theology of the Body as well as the Renaissance masters due to the time she spent studying painting in Florence, Italy. She seeks to bring others deeper into a relationship with Christ and an awareness of who they are as men and women, through beauty.

Capato travels around the world with her original art along with her husband Pawel, a professional musician with a master’s in music therapy, speaking about beauty and offering an intimate encounter with the Lord through the sacred arts.

Her art has been featured around the globe and she is available to create new works for churches, communities and homes as well as to travel worldwide to share the faith in this powerful way.

The retreat will also allow time for breakout discussions, Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and Confessions.

Fee is $20 and includes lunch. To register online, visit https://dioceseoftrenton.org/yaretreat. Participants may also register at the door the day of the retreat.

For more information, contact Dan Waddington, director of the Department of Youth and Young Adult Ministry, at 609-403-7140 or email [email protected] or Laura Cortes, associate director, at 609-403-7182.
