Husbands and wives in the Trenton Diocese will have four unique opportunities this Lent to participate in special Stations of the Cross for Married Couples.

All the Stations will take place at 7 p.m. in four different parishes: March 7 – St. Paul, Princeton; March 21 – St. Isaac Jogues, Marlton; March 28 – St. Luke, Toms River, and April 4 – St. Robert Bellarmine Co-Cathedral, Freehold.

Based on a text published by Magnificat, these Stations of the Cross are designed to be prayed particularly by married couples. The evenings will be led by married parishioners in each location, including some from parish pre-Cana teams. At the end of the Stations, couples will have an opportunity to receive a special blessing and renew their marriage vows as a sign of their love and commitment.

Marriage is a Sacrament that reveals God’s love to the world, and as such is a source of blessings and grace – but it can also be a cross and a source of trial. By praying the Stations together, couples can bring the crosses of married life to the Cross of Christ, to be strengthened and renewed by his sacrifice.

Although the focus is on married couples, those with children are welcome to bring them, said Nick Petrillo, associate director of marriage ministries and NFP for the Diocese.

“If they normally take their children to Stations, it could be good for children to witness [their parents] participating and renewing their vows,” he said.

Couples are asked to register with the QR code or by clicking HERE.

St. Paul, 216 Nassau Street, Princeton
