Our Lady of Guadalupe Torch captains — Rocio Castillo, Alejandro Osorio, Mat Ruiz and Luis Ruiz — traveled from the Diocese of Trenton to Mexico Dec. 9 to deliver petitions collected from parishioners during Torch visits to parishes across the Diocese and to participate in the second annual Guadalupe Torch Congress at the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Mexico City. The Mass was celebrated on the Memorial of St. Juan Diego Cuauhtlatoatzin. Four torches accompanied the delegation, along with Father Jose, a priest of the Archdiocese of Newark, who received a torch for the first time this year at St. Anthony of Padua Parish, Elizabeth.
