Faculty members from Notre Dame High School, Lawrenceville – Mary Jean Torpey, Matt Greeley and Cynthia Sabagol – spent the week in the Dominican Republic, seeking opportunities to connect their school with other communities.
Throughout the week, they visited Barrio Lindo, a small community not recognized by the government, leading to harsh living conditions. They were welcomed with open arms and even had the opportunity to celebrate Mass together. Later in the week, they met with the Catholic University High School, where they discussed similar values and policies both schools hold. They also met with other schools and priests who will aid Notre Dame in keeping this connection throughout the years.
