Terence Egan, longtime teacher in Delran high school, dies at 80

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Aug. 9 in Sacred Heart Church, Camden, for Terence Egan, a longtime teacher in Holy Cross High School (now Holy Cross Preparatory Academy), Delran.
Mr. Egan died Aug. 2 in Doylestown Hospital, Doylestown, Pa., at age 80.
Born in Philadelphia in 1945, he was a 1963 graduate of St. Mary’s Manor High School, Langhorne, Pa. He earned a bachelor’s degree from St. Charles Borromeo Seminary, Wynnewood, Pa., in 1967, and a master’s degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
Mr. Egan served more than three decades as a history teacher in Holy Cross High School, where he also served for several years as chair of the history department. In addition, he also taught classes in Burlington County Community College.
Mr. Egan was predeceased by his parents and a brother. He is survived by a brother, Patrick M. Egan and his wife, Dorothy, of Perkasie, Pa.; a sister, Virginia S. Egan of Quakertown, Pa.; a sister-in-law; six nieces and nephews and six great nieces and great nephews.
Burial was in Resurrection Cemetery, Bensalem, Pa.
