The 99th annual Conference of the Trenton Diocesan Council of Parent Teacher Associations was held Sept. 21 in St. Robert Bellarmine Co-Cathedral Freehold.

Attended by school PTA representatives from around the four-county Diocese, the day began with a Mass celebrated by Bishop David M. O'Connell, C.M., who was also homilist. A number of priests from around the Diocese joined the Bishop at the altar.

Among the highlights were the welcoming and installation of new council officers; the dedication of the council's yearbook to this year's recipient, Dr. Vincent de Paul Schmidt, superintendent of Catholic Schools, and a keynote address by Dennis and Kimberly Hewski of Lauren's Light, a 501c3 charity organization with programs and events that help young women in grades six through 12 discover and develop the skills they need to succeed.
