Burlington County
Burlington County Chapter of the Knights of Columbus is working with the Vineland Knights of Columbus in hosting a drive to benefit people in Ukraine Oct. 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish, 1620 Marne Highway, Hainesport. Non-perishable items being collected include noodles, rice, instant soup, instant oatmeal, nuts, cereal and energy bars. Personal items include tissues, bar soap, toothpaste, band-aids, disposable diapers, first-aid kits, pain relief medication, women’s hygiene products, medical tourniquet, underwear, socks and antibacterial wipes. Other needed items include blankets, sleeping bags, bookbags candles, crayons, pencils and coloring books. Court St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Riverton, is collecting baby items for First Way of Burlington County. Needed items include diapers, wipes, baby clothes, formula and toiletries. There is an urgent need for diapers sizes 4, 5 and 6. Items may be dropped off in the basement of Sacred Heart Church, Riverton.
First Way of Burlington, which assists pregnant women in need, is in need for three committed volunteers for Mondays from noon to 2p .m. For more information, call 609-284-7943.
Holy Eucharist St. Vincent de Paul Conference, Tabernacle, has a food pantry that operates by appointment only on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to noon. Persons in need of assistance and reside in Chatsworth, Vincentown, Shamong, Tabernacle or Southampton can call the hotline 609-268-0005 and leave a message with name and number and type of assistance needed. Mary, Mother of the Church Parish, Bordentown, in association with KCKB Productions, will present a musical presentation by Bordentown native Kelly Briggs Oct. 11 at 7 p.m. in the church. He will present an array of music with messages of hope and inspiration along with some Broadway tunes. Guest Jesus Alfonso Gonzalez and the parish choir are expected to sing. Mercer County
Hamilton Council, Knights of Columbus, will resume weekly Saturday collections beginning in September. Food donations may be placed in the bins located in the gathering space in St. Gregory the Great Church, Hamilton Square. For information, email [email protected].
Incarnation-St. James Parish, Ewing, will hold a parish mission with Redemptorist Father Kevin MacDonald Sept. 14-18. Father MacDonald will celebrate and speak at the Masses the weekend of Sept. 14-15. The mission talks will be held Sept. 16-18 at 7 p.m. in the Incarnation worship site. There will also be daily mission Masses at 8 a.m. in St. James Church. There will be a closing Mass Sept. 18 at 7 p.m. in Incarnation Church. On Sept. 17, the mission will include the Sacrament of Reconciliation and additional priests will be available to hear Confessions. On Monday and Tuesday, the Blessed Sacrament will be exposed on the altar and Father Macdonald will lead participants in short meditations and reflections. Father MacDonald is a popular retreat director and currently resides at San Alfonso Retreat House, West End.

St. Mark Social Concerns Program, Sea Girt, is resuming the Frozen Meals Program to benefit The Center in Asbury Park, a volunteer-based state non-profit organization that provides support services for people with HIV/AIDS and their caregiver. Food trays and lids may be picked up next to the kitchen refrigerator in Father Child Hall in the church basement. Once the trays are filled with food, labels with the contents and date of preparation should be placed on the lids. The trays may be placed in the freezer compartment of the refrigerator. Epiphany Parish, Brick, will hold a 10-week Evening Bible Study on “Revelation: The Kingdom Yet to Come,” part of the Great Adventure Bible series from Ascension Press. The conference’s thrift shop hours are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday are from 9 a.m. to noon. Donations of spring and summer clothing are being collected.
St. Francis Counseling Services, Long Beach Island, will hold eight weeks of free and confidential group counseling sessions in the fall for parents of children who have been sexually abused or assaulted. St. John Parish’s St. Vincent de Paul Conference, Lakehurst, needs the following items for its food pantry: coffee (canned), tea bags, pasta sauce, boxed pasta (except elbow macaroni and spaghetti), hearty soups, canned white tuna and chicken, cereal for children and oatmeal, canned ravioli. Sugar free items such as jams, jellies, pancake syrup are also needed. food can be drooped in the blue bin in the church hall anytime the church is open. Incarnation-St. James Parish, Ewing, will hold a parish mission with Redemptorist Father Kevin MacDonald Sept. 14-18. Father MacDonald will celebrate and speak at the Masses the weekend of Sept. 14-15. The mission talks will be held Sept. 16-18 at 7 p.m. in the Incarnation worship site. There will also be daily mission Masses at 8 a.m. in St. James Church. There will be a closing Mass Sept. 18 at 7 p.m. in Incarnation Church. St. Mark Social Concerns Program, Sea Girt, is resuming the Frozen Meals Program to benefit The Center in Asbury Park, a volunteer-based state non-profit organization that provides support services for people with HIV/AIDS and their caregiver. Food trays and lids may be picked up next to the kitchen refrigerator in Father Child Hall in the church basement. Once the trays are filled with food, labels with the contents and date of preparation should be placed on the lids. The trays may be placed in the freezer compartment of the refrigerator. Annunciation Council, Knights of Columbus, will host a golf outing Sept. 23 at Atlantis Golf Club. Epiphany Parish, Brick, will hold a 10-week Evening Bible Study on “Revelation: The Kingdom Yet to Come,” part of the Great Adventure Bible series from Ascension Press. The study consists of written commentary, a workbook, discussion questions and DVD teachings. It will begin Sept. 9 in the All Purpose Room (which is attached to the Church) and then continue for 10 weeks until Jan. 13. The conference’s thrift shop hours are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday are from 9 a.m. to noon. Donations of spring and summer clothing are being collected.
St. Francis Counseling Services, Long Beach Island, will hold eight weeks of free and confidential group counseling sessions in the fall for parents of children who have been sexually abused or assaulted.
