For catechists and those guiding young people through their Confirmation preparation, a “Crash Course in Confirmation: Guiding Adolescents on the Examination of Conscience” will be hosted Nov. 16, 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in St. Robert Bellarmine Co-Cathedral, Freehold.

As effective preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation requires being in a state of grace, the ability to make a good Confession is essential – a practice many youths struggle with, as well as understanding the depth of God’s mercy available through the Sacrament of Reconciliation. This short course will provide catechists with tools to guide adolescents through the process, helping foster a deeper connection with their faith and the loving forgiveness of God.

Sponsored by the diocesan Department of Catechesis, the workshop will be presented by Father Garry Koch, pastor of St. Benedict Parish, Holmdel. Father Koch has taught theology for more than 40 years at the high school, college and graduate levels, and is a longtime Scripture columnist for The Monitor.

Registration is $10 per person, and is available by using the QR code or visiting https://dioceseoftrenton.org/conf-catechist-series. For questions, contact Michelle Angelo Santoro, 609-403-7174, [email protected]. St. Robert Bellarmine Co-Cathedral is located at 61 Georgia Road.
