Congratulating our anniversary couples

During October, some 250 married couples from around the Diocese who are celebrating milestone anniversaries in 2024 – one, 25, 50 or more years -- had an opportunity to have their marriages blessed by Bishop David M. O’Connell, C.M.
Every year, the diocesan Department of Evangelization and Family Life, holds two Bishop’s Anniversary Blessing Masses. The first Mass for couples from Monmouth and Ocean Counties was celebrated Oct. 6 in St. Robert Bellarmine Co-Cathedral, Freehold. The second Mass for couples from Burlington and Mercer Counties was celebrated Oct. 27 in St. Mary of the Assumption Cathedral, Trenton.
During the Masses, the Bishop leads the couples in the renewal of their marriage vows and offers them a blessing. The couples are also presented with a certificate.
Family members and friends of the anniversary couples have an opportunity to express their love and best wishes their couple through a congratulatory ad that will appear in the November issue of The Monitor Magazine and on The Monitor’s website, TrentonMonitor.com.
