Some 22 pilgrims from around the four-county Diocese traveled to Italy for the Diocesan Eucharistic Pilgrimage Sept. 29-Oct. 9.
During their 11 days abroad, Father Martin O’Reilly, who served as the spiritual director, and the pilgrims were nourished in their Catholic faith as they visited and prayed at the holy sites in Rome, Siena, Assisi, Loreto, Manoppelo and Lanciano.
Among the many highlights were celebrating Mass in basilicas including St. Francis of Assisi; St. Mary of the Angels; St. Mary Major and St. John Lateran. The pilgrims visited the tomb of Blessed Carlo Acutis; the Church of St. Clare, and St. Peter Basilica in Rome.
