Bishop ordains two Vincentian seminarians as deacons

Bishop David M. O’Connell, C.M., shared a joyous occasion with the Vincentian community May 11 when he returned to the Basilica Shrine of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal in Philadelphia to ordain two Vincentian seminarians to the diaconate -- Rev. Mr. Juan Carlos Perez, C.M., and Rev. Mr. Paul Phuong Pham, C.M. Bishop O’Connell was principal celebrant of the Mass of Ordination. He was joined at the altar by Vincentian priests who staff the shrine. In the congregation were family members and friends of the ordinands as well as staff and supporters of the basilica.
Rev. Mr. Perez hails from Mexico while Rev. Mr. Pham is a native of Vietnam. Both men are currently pursuing studies for the priesthood in St. Charles Borromeo Seminary, Wynnewood, Pa.
