As the eastern St. Elizabeth Ann Seton route of the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage prepares to depart New Haven, Conn., on May 17, the local Catholic radio show “Better Together” will visit with Father Martin O’Reilly about the path the Blessed Sacrament will take through the Diocese of Trenton this month and how people can participate.
Produced by the Ewing-based Catholic media apostolate Domestic Church Media, “Better Together” will air May 11 at 11 a.m. on WFJS 1260 AM and 89.3 FM, and stream live through the DCM app and at https://domesticcchurchmedia.org, with an encore at 1 p.m. May 12 and at 5 p.m. May 16.
Father O’Reilly, co-chair of the Eucharistic Revival in the Trenton Diocese and pastor of St. Mary Mother of the Church Parish, Bordentown, will talk about the plans underway May 28-30 not only to receive the perpetual pilgrims traveling with the Blessed Sacrament, but also the hosting parishes and corresponding events: Masses, speakers, Eucharistic Adoration and processions at St. Mary of the Assumption Cathedral, Trenton; St. Mary of the Pines Church, Manahawkin; and St. Mary Church, Bordentown.
Jim and Cheryl Manfredonia, co-founders of DCM, will also interview Father O’Reilly on their “Friday LIVE with Jim & Cheryl” program May 10 at 4 p.m., with an encore at 10 p.m. and May 11 at 12 p.m.
In addition to Father O’Reilly, “Better Together” program co-hosts Jennifer Mauro, managing editor of the Catholic Star Herald in the Camden Diocese, and EmmaLee Italia, contributing editor for The Monitor, will talk with Adam Carlisle, Secretary for Evangelization and Communication for the Diocese of Metuchen, about the stops taking place at the Cathedral of St. Francis of Assisi, Metuchen; St. Peter the Apostle Church, New Brunswick, and St. Augustine of Canterbury Church, Kendall Park.
Several opportunities exist for walking and praying with the Eucharistic Pilgrimage, including its departure from the Diocese as pilgrims process across the Lower Trenton Bridge on May 30.
