St. Katharine Drexel Food Pantry, Burlington, provides food and hygiene products to Burlington Township and Burlington City residents who meet income specifications and/or receive public assistance, unemployment benefits or disability benefits. In addition registered parishioners experiencing food shortages are encourage to contact the food pantry for assistance. The pantry is open every Wednesday from 9:30 to 11 a.m. except for Thanksgiving week when the pantry is open on Monday. Persons wishing to help can call 609-386-3650.
St. Katharine Drexel Parish, Burlington, hosts a “Catholic Traditions Q&A” every first Wednesday from 7 to 8 p.m., where participants can learn more about the Catholic faith. Christian Brothers Academy, Lincroft, will serve as the site of The Arcadian Chorale’s performance of “Wonders of Nature: Songs of Land, Sea and Sky!” June 8 at 8 p.m. in the Henderson Theater. The chorale will explore various natural phenomena depicted in music by both classical and contemporary composers. The program will also offer songs on the moon, sun, rain, fire, volcanoes, rainbows, mosquitoes and lightening. The concert will be highlighted by poetry and prose on these topics recited by representatives of various local environmental parks and educational organizations. Virtuoso accompaniment will be provided by Ruslan Odintosov at the keyboard, plus a local string quartet. Tickets are $25 for general admission; $22 for seniors, and $10 for students. Court St. Elizabeth, Catholic Daughters of the Americas, is sponsoring its annual baby shower for local community charities. Freehold Birthright, an organization that assists girls, women, families, during their pregnancy and after the baby is born, is in need of prolife volunteers. St. Francis Counseling Service, 4700 Long Beach Blvd., Long Beach Island, offers support for perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. Free and confidential services are available to Ocean County residents with children under age three who have experienced trauma and have postpartum symptoms. The program’s goal is to provide counseling for parents in the perinatal period, addressing new parenthood struggles, perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, infertility, miscarriage, stillbirth, sudden infant death syndrome and trauma. Free and confidential services are available to Ocean County residents with children under age three who have experienced trauma and have postpartum symptoms. The program’s goal is to provide counseling for parents in the perinatal period, addressing new parenthood struggles, perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, infertility, miscarriage, stillbirth, sudden infant death syndrome and trauma.
