‘The Pastor’s Cup’ soccer tournament seeks teams

A call has to been put out to all pastors of the Diocese asking them to once again round up their parishioners and get them involved in the annual summer Pastor’s Cup Diocesan Soccer Tournament.

Hosted by the Diocese and St. Joseph Parish, Toms River, the tournament brings parish-formed teams together to play soccer games on several Sundays during July and August at 1380 Whitty Rd., Toms River.

Tournament organizers stated that 16 parishes are needed to form a men’s team of 16 people and a women’s team of 16 people.

The opening and first games will be held July 14 and 28 at 1 p.m. with the continuation game being played on Aug. 11 at 1 p.m.

The closing ceremony will be held Aug. 25 at 1 p.m. on the football field of Donovan Catholic High School, 711 Hooper Ave., Toms River.

Registration for parish teams may be faxed to 732-286-7064 or email [email protected].
