Throughout the afternoon and early evening Jan. 30, there was a steady stream of parishioners who gathered in St. Dominic Church to see and pray before a relic of St. Jude that was visiting the Brick parish that day. The stop in St. Dominic Church is one of many the relic is making as part of an eight-month tour of the United States.

St. Jude Thaddeus was one of the 12 Jesus selected to lead his Church. A cousin of Jesus according to Catholic tradition, he has long been revered for his steadfast faith and dedication to spreading Christianity. Millions have experienced healing and intercession through his intercession.

Along with opportunities to venerate the relic of St. Jude, visitors to St. Dominic Parish, also had a chance to attend Mass celebrated by Father Carlos Martins, an ecclesiastically appointed curate of the relics and director of Treasures of the Church, who is accompanying the relic on its journey.
