"Celebrate Your Students" was the theme of the second day of Catholic Schools Week in Sacred Heart School, Mount Holly. On Jan. 28, the school hosted two "Wacky Science" assemblies presented by Mad Science. The assemblies were designed to present science concepts in a fun and engaging way during which students learned more about polymers, static electricity and super absorbers. Mary Stadnyk photo

Catholic Schools Week 2024 is underway in the Diocese of Trenton and there’s lots of good things going on.

Of course, in keeping with its primary mission to ground their students in the Catholic faith, all of the school communities opened their week with the celebration of Mass either on Jan. 28 or Jan. 29. After Mass, some schools hosted open houses, inviting prospective families to take a tour, meet with some of the faculty and students and get a good idea of all the school would have to offer their children.

The week continues with a host of activities, some of which are poignant, such as inviting first responders to share their experiences about their work in helping to care for the towns and their people or having students create handmade “Thank You” cards for community leaders. There are also an array of fun events scheduled like spelling bees, dress down days, faculty/student volleyball games, Student Appreciation Days and Teacher Appreciation Days, to name a few.
