‘Back to work’ for Bishop O’Connell
January 25, 2024 at 4:34 p.m.
For the first time since his recent heart attack and travel home from Italy, Bishop David M. O’Connell, C.M., returned to the Chancery Jan. 24 for a half day of work to record messages for video productions and to handle some necessary diocesan business.
Bishop O’Connell has been recovering at home since Jan. 12 following his emergency hospitalization in Rome. Under the advice of his doctors, he has had to cancel his participation at several upcoming public events scheduled around the Diocese, but he will maintain a modified work schedule until receiving full medical clearance.
He expressed appreciation again for all those who have offered prayers, emails, texts and other expressions of concern during his recovery.
