Ellen M. Decker, former faculty member in SJV high school

Ellen M. Decker, a resident of Manchester and former faculty member of St. John Vianney High School, Holmdel, where she taught math for 30 years, died Jan. 17 in Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune. She was 82.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Jan. 23. in St. John Church, Lakehurst.
Mrs. Decker was born in Hoboken and then lived in Middletown before moving to Manchester in 2001. She held a bachelor’s degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University and a master’s degree in education. In addition to teaching, she was active in St. John Vianney as a student advisor and attended many school functions.
Mrs. Decker was predeceased by her husband, Francis L., who died in 2022. She is survived by her children, Francis C.; Charles P. (Jennifer), and Catherine Proctor, and 10 grandchildren.
A private cremation will follow the funeral Mass with burial in Ocean County Memorial Park, Toms River.
