Registration is open for the 27th annual Catholic Men for Jesus Christ Conference, which will take place Feb. 24, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. in St. Mary Mother of God Church, Middletown.

The conference theme – “Moored to Mary and the Eucharist” – is inspired by a quote from St. Don Bosco: “Mary is the Star of the Sea. She never forsakes those who trust in her, so let us get under her protecting mantle. She will lead us out of the danger and guide us safely to port.”

The day will include the celebration of Mass by Bishop David M. O’Connell, C.M., as well as prayer, Catholic vendors and inspiring Catholic speakers Joe Klecko, Tim Glemkowski and Xavier Reyes-Ayral.

Renowned for his formidable presence on the defensive line, Klecko etched his legacy primarily with the New York Jets during the late 1970s and 1980s. He was drafted by the Jets in 1977, rising to prominence as a defensive end and tackle, with significant impact in the Pro Bowls of 1981, 1983 and 1984. He was named 1981 Defensive Player of the Year for the New York Jets by the Newspaper Enterprise Association.

Klecko, who hails from Pennsylvania, has appeared on EWTN’s Life on the Rock show, attesting to the importance of his Catholic faith. He offers a timeless message on faith, sports and what it takes to be a champion for God. He and his wife Debbie reside in Colts Neck; the couple have five children, and one son is an NFL defensive tackle with three Superbowl rings to his credit.

Glemkowski is a national and international speaker and author of “Made for Mission: Renewing Your Parish Culture.” He is the former president and founder of L’Alto Catholic Institute – a not-for-profit apostolate dedicated to helping parishes become more effective at forming disciples.

With more than 10 years of professional experience serving the Church in a variety of capacities, Glemkowski has coached dozens of parishes and dioceses on how to build a culture of discipleship. His writing has appeared in many print and web-based theological and catechetical publications. He and his wife, Maggie, live in Littleton, Col., with their four young children.

French author Reyes-Ayral has worked since the 1990s on Marian apparition sites through books he published in France, Germany and Italy, and briefly collaborated with world-renowned Msgr. René Laurentin, a French theologian who is widely recognized for his works on Mariology.

In 2013, Xavier wrote and published in France as well a book entitled “Héroïsme” relating to the extraordinary World War II adventures of his uncle, Jean Ayral – a highly decorated Free-French officer, whose missions during the occupation and liberation of France have been recorded in the annals of the British and French intelligence services.

Reyes-Ayral has continued to study apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary throughout Europe, Canada and Latin-America. He is a fourth degree Knight of Columbus and Grand-Knight of his own council and plans to continue to write more books on Marian apparitions and on the extraordinary but alarmingly urgent messages they bring to an oblivious human society.

Catholic Men for Jesus Christ was founded in 1997 and strives to bring men together to build each other up, support one another, and challenge one another on their spiritual journeys to become the men they are created and called to be.

Conference registration for adults is $50 in advance or $60 at door. Student registration is $20. Fee includes both breakfast and lunch. Register at https://cmjc.ticketspice.com/2024mensconference.
