Holy Innocents Parish Online Rosary Group, Neptune, meets Monday through Friday at 10 a.m. online or over the phone. For more information, email Kathy.lynch65.gmail.com. The Rosary is also prayed in-person every morning before the 9 a.m. Mass located at 3455 W. Bangs Ave.
St. Benedict Food Pantry, Holmdel, is seeing an increase in the number of new clients seeing assistance. The pantry is also experiencing a decrease in products being provided by a local food bank. Items needed include diapers (all sizes), baby food (stages 2/3), baby wipes, children’s cereal and snacks, coffee/tea, juice for adults and children, soup, bar soap, shampoo and conditioner, toothpaste, toothbrushes and mouthwash, laundry detergent, dis detergent, paper towels and toilet tissue. The food pantry is open Wednesdays from 10a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 4 to 6 p.m. and Thursdays from 4 to 6 p.m.
St. Rose of Lima Parish Respect Life Committee, Freehold, is sponsoring a collection of baby items during Lent. Collection boxes will be available in both the entrance of the church and chapel. Needed items include disposable diapers and clothing sizes from newborn to age 2 and accessories such as baby bottles, thermometers, clothes, blankets and diaper bags. The items will be distributed as requested and needed. After Lent, the remaining items will be donated to Freehold Birthright.
Hamilton Council, Knights of Columbus, has clothing donation bins located on the campus of St. Gregory the Great Parish, 4620 Nottingham Way. Accepted items including all clothing, shoes, sneakers, textiles, linens, bedding and handbags. Items should be in decent, reusable condition and securely bagged. No toys or household items.
Persons wishing to donate items such as strollers, car seats, highchairs or cribs are asked to be sure they are modern and fully functioning. Such items are not to be brought to the parish; donors are asked to contact a committee member who will inspect the items to ensure their safety. St. Mark Social Concerns Ministry, Sea Girt, is resuming the Frozen Meals Program to benefit The Center in Asbury Park. The program had been discontinued due to the pandemic. The Center in Asbury Park, Inc., is a volunteer-based not-for-profit service that provides support services for people living with HIV/AIS and their caregivers.
To donate meals participants must: pick up food trays and lids next to the refrigerator in Father Child’s Hall (church basement) at 215 Crescent Parkway; fill trays with generous portions of food; label the tray lids with the contents and date or preparation; return the meals to the freezer compartment of the refrigerator in Father Childs Hall. Mercy Center, 1106 Main St., Asbury Park, is in need of donations of canned soup; diapers, sizes 3 and higher; baby wipes; coffee/tea; mayonnaise; mustard; ketchup; deodorant; toothpaste; toothbrushes, and soap. St. Mary of the Lakes Parish, Medford, will host a Lenten Mission Feb. 26-Feb. 29 at 7 p.m. in the church. An abridged version will be offered after the 9 a.m. Mass. Presenter will be Capuchin Father Simeon Gallagher. The theme is “The Freedom to Believe: Becoming an Adult Catholic. Each day covers a different theme – “Stories of Escape from Self” (Lk 7:36-50); “Escape from False Values and Religious Adolescence (Lk 14:28-33); “Quest Stories: Humanity as Grace” (Jn 3:1-10), and “Love Stories: The Freedom Only Christ Can Give” (Jn 4:4-42).
Father Gallagher holds advanced degrees in religious education, ascetical theology and 19th century British Literature. His literature degree has earned him a reputation as a scholar in the works of John Henry Cardinal Newman. His work has taken him to El Salvador, where he was instrumental in founding Emmaus in Great Britain, has presented ecumenical lectures at Jean XXIII Centre, Geneva, Switzerland, and for the past several years he has worked closely with the U.S. Armed Forces at various military bases around the world.
St. Junipero Serra Parish, Seaside Park, will host an adult faith formation offering, “Why the Cross” Feb. 26, March 4, March 11 and March 18 in the hall of St. Catharine of Siena Church, 50 E St, Seaside Park. Presenter will be Conventual Franciscan Father Michael Lorentsen, pastor. The series will focus on the mystery of the Cross in the biblical tradition and the Christian tradition and seeks to help participants better understand Christ’s redemptive work. St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish Book Club, Bradley Beach, will meet Feb. 29 at 6:30 p.m. in O’Hara Hall. Club members will discuss “The Irishman’s Daughter” by V.R. St. Theresa Parish, Little Egg Harbor, will host a Lenten Fish Fry March 1 and March 22 from 4 to 6 p.m. Cost for dinners is $15 for adults and fish sticks dinners for children are $5. Hamilton Council, Knights of Columbus, will accept donations of ham and turkey for the Easter basket delivery on March 2 through March 23 between 9 and 11 a.m. the donations may be dropped off outside at the Knights’ tent in the shopping carts.
The Knights are also hosting a “40 Cans for Lent” campaign. Council members request one can of food for each day of Lent. The collection runs through March 30. Non-perishable food may be dropped off at any time in the bin located in the church gathering space or at the Knights tent located in the church parking lot March 30 between 9 and 11 a.m.
St. Gabriel Youth Group, Marlboro, will conduct a diaper drive to benefit Child Care Resources of Neptune March 2 to March 10. Diapers of all sizes, including pull-ups, will be collected as well as wipes. Donations may be brought to the church during weekend Mass, religious education class or to the parish center during regular working hours, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
St. Gregory the Great Academy, Hamilton Square, will host a spring craft show March 2 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the parish center, 4680 Nottingham Way. Wall art, coasters, candles, soaps, handmade items, jewelry will be among the items available for purchase as well as baked goods and food trucks. Proceeds will benefit the students.

St. Katharine Drexel Parish, Burlington, is collecting baby items for First Way. Easter baskets with eggs containing tags listing the needed baby items are placed in the back of both churches, -- St. Paul and All Saints. The eggs will be available for pick up the weekends of March 2-3 and March 9-10. Items may be brought to church the weekend of March 16-17. Requested items include baby food, baby wash, baby lotion, wipes, diapers sizes 4, 5 and 6, Similac or Enfamil formula, wash cloths and towels, shampoo and baby toiletry/medical kits, pacifiers, sippy cups, baby sleepers sizes 0-6 and toddler meals.
St. Justin the Martyr Parish, Toms River, will hold a St. Patrick’s/St. Joseph’s celebration March 3 from 2 to 6 p.m. Tickets, at $30 for adults; $15 for children ages 13-17, and children 12 and under are admitted free, are available after all weekend Masses during February and in the parish office Monday-Thursday. Proceeds will benefit the parish’s St. Vincent de Paul conference.

St. Leo the Great Parish Social Concerns Committee, Lincroft, uses The Butterfly for a Lenten project as a symbol of hope in the Resurrection. In the spirit of fasting and alms, parishioners are asked to take a butterfly envelope from the Sharing Tree and return it with a donation by March 25. Funds will be used to feed those in need in the community. Butterfly envelopes may be returned in the collection box, mailed or dropped off at the parish center, 50 Hurley’s Lane. St. Benedict Food Pantry, Holmdel, is seeing an increase in the number of new clients seeing assistance. The pantry is also experiencing a decrease in products being provided by a local food bank. St. Mark Social Concerns Ministry, Sea Girt, is resuming the Frozen Meals Program to benefit The Center in Asbury Park. The program had been discontinued due to the pandemic. The Center in Asbury Park, Inc., is a volunteer-based not-for-profit service that provides support services for people living with HIV/AIS and their caregivers.
To donate meals participants must: pick up food trays and lids next to the refrigerator in Father Child’s Hall (church basement) at 215 Crescent Parkway; fill trays with generous portions of food; label the tray lids with the contents and date or preparation; return the meals to the freezer compartment of the refrigerator in Father Childs Hall. Father Gallagher holds advanced degrees in religious education, ascetical theology and 19th century British Literature. His literature degree has earned him a reputation as a scholar in the works of John Henry Cardinal Newman. His work has taken him to El Salvador, where he was instrumental in founding Emmaus in Great Britain, has presented ecumenical lectures at Jean XXIII Centre, Geneva, Switzerland, and for the past several years he has worked closely with the U.S. Armed Forces at various military bases around the world.
