The following parishes and schools in the Diocese of Trenton have submitted these events:
St. Theresa Parish, Little Egg Harbor, will serve as the site of free income tax preparation on Wednesdays beginning Feb. 7 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the faith formation center, 450 Radio Rd. Participants should bring: last year’s federal and state tax returns; Social Security cards and photo identification; Social Security statements (1099s); tax forms – W2, 1099R, 1099G, 1098T; brokerage statements; self employment icome and expense information; all interest and dividend statements; health insurance information – 1095 A, B or C; medical, dental, prescription expenses; all tax statements – property tax, state tax refunds, last year’s PTR; unemployment paperwork; voided bank check to verify information for direct deposit or refund.
St. Alphonsus Parish, Hopewell, will host a presentation, "Food For the Soul: An Historical and Spiritual Perspective on the Eucharist" Feb. 7 at 7 p.m. in the church located at 54 E. Prospect St. Presenter is Father Stephen Sansevere, pastor. All are welcome to attend.
Holy Eucharist Parish, Tabernacle, will host a Eucharistic Adoration Holy Hour Feb. 7 from 7 to 8 p.m. in the church, 520 Medford Lakes Rd. Prayer, Scripture, music and meditation will be included.
Francis House of Prayer, 84 Walnford Rd., Allentown, will host a “Growing in Radiance” retreat Feb. 9 starting at 7 p.m. and ending Feb. 11 at 1 p.m. Fee is $200 with a $75 non-refundable deposit Commuters are welcome. Call 609-877-0509 or visit FHOP.org for further information.
Cristo Redento Council, Knights of Columbus, will host a St. Valentine’s dinner Feb. 9 in Barna Hall of Jesus the Good Shepherd Parish, 805 Warren Ave., Beverly. The theme will be a ‘50s sock hop party and costumes are encouraged. Appetizers will be served at 6 p.m. with dinner following at 7. Cost is $40 per person. Minors will not be admitted. Prizes will be awarded for best dance and best costume.
St. Mary Parish, Barnegat, will host a Pre-Super Bowl/Mardi Gras/Valentine’s Comedy Night Feb. 9 in the parish center located at 1 Bishop Lane, Manahawkin. Doors open at 5:45 p.m. Tickets are $50 per person and may be purchased by contacting the rectory at 609-698-5531. Leave, name, phone number and number of tickets needed. A rectory staff member will return the call when tickets are available.
Francis House of Prayer, 83 Walnford Rd., Allentown, will offer a presentation on “The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry” Feb. 9 from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. the morning retreat can serve as a precursor to Lent, helping people to pay attention to do one thing at a time and live in the present moment. They will learn about the 10 symptoms of “hurry sickness” and their cure. Fee for in-person participants is $30 for materials and lunch and $20 for online participants. Epiphany Parish, Brick, will celebrate the 50th anniversary of its founding with a dinner dance Feb. 10 starting at 6 p.m. in Spring Lake Manor, 415 Highway 71, Spring Lake. Tickets are $75 per person and includes music and dancing, sit-down dinner, unlimited soft drinks and dessert. For information, call the parish at 732-458-0220.
Sacred Heart Church, Trenton, will serve as the site of the “Grace of Peace Memorial Concert” Feb. 11 at 3 p.m. Richard Latman, founder of the Capital Singers of Trenton. will host the concert during which music and songs calling for peace in the world will be presented. Current and former members of the Capital Singers and special guests will perform. There is no admission fee. Sacred Heart Church is located at 343 South Broad St., Trenton.
Bishop John C. Reiss Council, Knights of Columbus, Marlboro, will collect food items for the Mercy Center Food Bank in Asbury Park, a charitable Catholic organization operated by the Sisters of Mercy, before and after all Masses during Super Bowl weekend Feb. 10-11. Contributions of canned goods -- soup, stew, tunafish, chicken, vegetables and fruit as well as cereal, dry foods, instant potatoes, peanut butter, jelly, non-perishable milk and canned or boxed juices. Do not contribute items in glass containers. Monetary donations and shopping cards will be accepted. For every $5 donated, the Mercy Center Foodbank can distribute $30 worth of food for needy families.
Visitation Parish’s Grief Share Bereavement Sessions, Brick, will resume Feb. 12 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. in the church located at 730 Lynnwood Ave. For information, call 732-477-7059, ext. 101 or email [email protected].

Father Michael McClane will lead a presentation on having a religious vocation. Refreshments will follow.
St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish, Lavallette, will hold a Lenten Bible Study Feb. 15, 22, 29, March 7, 14 and 21 from 9:30-11 a.m. in the church hall, 103 Washington Ave. The series, using the book “Discovering Who You Are in Christ,” will help participants understand their identity in Christ and give personal examples and practical suggestions for motivation and inspiration.
