The tradition for Bishop David M. O’Connell, C.M., to host a Christmas gathering with the seminarians of the Diocese was upheld Dec. 20 in Sacred Heart Parish, Trenton.

Bishop O’Connell was principal celebrant and homilist of the parish Mass for the Fourth Sunday of Advent and a dinner followed in the parish rectory.

During the Mass, seminarians Kyle Holler and Brian Leonard marked a milestone in their priestly formation when they participated in the Rite of Admission of Candidacy. Right after the homily, Holler and Leonard stood before Bishop O’Connell and officially declared their intentions to pursue formation for the reception of the Sacrament of Holy Orders and ultimately serve as future priests for the Diocese.

More to come on this story.
