Mount Carmel Guild annual Gala set for Oct. 18

August 10, 2024 at 12:40 a.m.

Tickets are now available for the Mount Carmel Guild’s 29th annual fundraising Gala, “Let’s Grow through Giving,” Oct. 18 beginning at 6 p.m. in Trenton Country Club, 201 Sullivan Way, West Trenton.

The evening will include a silent auction and restaurant gift card raffle. Individuals and organizations will be recognized during the Gala for their charitable endeavors and support to help sustain MCG’s programs, which for 104 years have offered relief to those experiencing both chronic and temporary personal crises in the Trenton area and Mercer County.

“Our 2024 honorees are remarkable examples of kindness; the bedrock upon which the organization strives,” the MCG website notes. “We are pleased to present nine honorees this year, in acknowledgement for their immense support and dedication to community.”

The implementation of MCG’s fundraising Gala recognized the growing need for support in the provision of food, clothing and other basic care items. It acknowledges growing trends in food insecurity and food insufficiency across noted demographics and seeks a sustainable response.

Core programs run by MCG include Home Health Nursing and Community Support, which help sustain the good health and well-being of low-income seniors and reduce food insecurity among Mercer County residents.

“Our food pantry provides support for approximately 1,450 households each month and several units of care for the elderly under our Home Health Nursing Program,” MCG explains on its website. “Our goal of $65,000 this year will ensure that individuals and families obtain nutritious supplies of food and other forms of support that can build a stronger and more productive citizenry.”

Registration is due by Oct. 11. Cost to attend is $200 per person. Tickets and sponsorships can be purchased via a link available at mtcarmelguild.org. For more information, reach out to [email protected], 609-392-5159, ext. 111.
