Once again, the parishes of the Diocese of Trenton are uniting in prayer to Our Lady of Guadalupe as her light travels far and wide to her people. The 2023 Traveling Torch celebration commenced Oct. 28 at 5 p.m. in St. Mary of the Assumption Cathedral, Trenton, where torches adorned with the picture of Our Lady will be carried to parishes throughout the four counties during the month of November.

The procession route will come to a joyous conclusion Dec. 2 as pilgrims walk from St. Mary of the Lake Church, 43 Madison Ave., Lakewood, to Holy Family Chapel, 1139 E. County Line Road, Lakewood. Both worship sites are part of Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish.

The prayerful program of music and dancing will begin at 7 a.m. with the pilgrimage departing from St. Mary of the Lake at 8:30 a.m. Pilgrims should arrive at the Holy Family Chapel in time for the celebration of Holy Mass at noon.
