November 14, 2023 at 1:58 p.m.

Parishes in the Diocese have scheduled the following events:

St. Isaac Jogues Parish, Marlton, will hold its inaugural Young Adult Ministry event Dec. 5 beginning at 5:30 p.m. in the Parish Hall at 3 Lord Place, Evesham. Young adults ages 21-39 are invited for fellowship and pizza followed by a presentation entitled “Source and Summit: The Holy Eucharist” by JMJ Missions. The talk will be followed by Eucharistic Adoration, Confessions and Benediction. Please respond to Elizabeth at [email protected] by Dec. 3.

Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish, West Trenton, is hosting the Central Jersey Choral Society who will present “The Messiah” by George Freidrich Handel Dec. 10 at 3 p.m. in the church. Sheet music will be provided for those who wish to sing. Christopher Loeffler is artistic director. Suggested donation is $10.

On Jan. 19 at 7:30 p.m., the Central Jersey Choral Society will present “Lauda Sion” by Felix Mendelssohn and Requiem by Gabriel Faure. To obtain tickets at $20 if purchased in advance or $25 at the door, visit cjchoralsociety.org.

Our Lady of Good Counsel Church is located at 137 West Upper Ferry Rd.

On Monday, December 11 St. Mary of the Lakes Church in Medford will receive a copy of the St. Joseph Pilgrim Icon and offer a special prayer service in honor of St. Joseph. We will only have a copy of the pilgrim icon at our church for a short time.

From the Year of St. Joseph declared by Pope Francis, and inspired by his apostolic letter Patris Carde, come the Knights of Columbus new Pilgrim Icon Program in honor of St. Joseph.

The original of this beautiful icon is housed at St. Joseph’s Oratory of Mount Royal in Montreal, Canada’s preeminent Shrine to St. Joseph. We have been invited to have a copy of this pilgrim icon at our church for a short time and will have a prayer service to St. Joseph

We have invited all to this prayer service hosted by the Knights of Columbus Council 6520. Fr. Dan will give a homily honoring St. Joseph. There will be liturgical readings, catechesis from recent popes will be read and we will pray the rosary. The choir will add their beautiful voices to our prayer service.

The significance of St. Joseph is that he carried out his mission of raising, guarding, and preparing Christ quietly, courageously and faithfully. Our world desperately needs men and women of courage. But in a particular way it needs courageous fathers… men willing to stand up and to carry out their own mission of protecting, defending and raising future generations. It needs men willing to risk it all, to offer the world Jesus. In short, our world needs men in the model of St. Joseph.

St. Peter Parish, 406 Forman Ave., Pt. Pleasant Beach, will present a Christmas concert by the Orchestra of St. Peter by the Sea Dec. 22 at 7 p.m. Under the direction of Father Alphonse Stephenson, the Christmas Spectacular is a program of holiday classics and carols performed flawlessly by his 42-piece orchestra and distinguished vocalists.

Tickets are $50 with no reserved seating; first come first served, and doors open at 6 p.m. For questions, contact George Loder at 908-917-9234, [email protected], or Jennifer Nguyen 732-892-0049, [email protected].
