Mercer County CYO gave boys and girls basketball players the chance to shine once more in the 22nd annual All Star Games March 5 at the CYO Broad Street Center in Trenton.

The games bring together top notch players from all high schools in Mercer County, including both public and nonpublic schools, following the completion of regular season and playoff games.

“It is a showcase game for the best seniors in Mercer County,” said Patrick M. Hardiman, CYO Yardville Branch / Bromley Center Director. “The players are chosen by their coaches to participate.” Both Notre Dame High School, Lawrenceville, and Trenton Catholic Preparatory Academy, Hamilton, had participants in the All Stars this year.

Awards are presented for Most Valuable Player (MVP) for both the boys’ and girls’ games. Additional pre-determined annual awards are the Renee Keister and Jack Cryan Awards.  “Both were CYO players and Mercer High school basketball stars whose awards have been in place for 31 years (Keister) and 53 years (Cryan),” said Hardiman.
