On Immaculate Conception feast day, Bishop speaks of faith, belief in Mary's intercession

Those who gathered for the 12:10 p.m. Mass for the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary Dec. 8 were given two thoughts to keep in mind by Bishop David M. O'Connell, C.M.

He told the congregation of mostly parishioners, as well as people from nearby parishes and state house workers,  to follow the Blessed Mother's example by always having faith in God. He also told them to believe that the Blessed Mother "is a powerful intercessor for us.

"She works for us," the Bishop said. "She brings our prayers and sufferings to her son," said Bishop O'Connell, principal celebrant and homilist of the Mass. 

"Let's always have strong faith and let's alwasy remember that nothing is impossible with God," he said.
