Emphasizing the importance for adequate preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation, the diocesan Department of Catechesis is sponsoring an all-day workshop Nov. 5 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold. Keynote speaker Colin Maciver will offer practical tips for catechists to engage, motivate and inspire learner about the Sacrament..

“Catechist formation is a priority of the Diocese, and catechists are engaging the youth and passing on the message of the Gospel,” asserted Denise Contino, director of the Department of Catechesis. “Confirmation preparation is an opportunity to engage the candidates and help them see that reception of the Sacrament is a beginning and not a ‘graduation.’ Working with the Department of Youth and Young Adults, this workshop will be one of many opportunities to provide training to the catechists who accompany our adolescent learners.”
