A highlight of the day was the parish commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the building of the church. Following the Mass, the Bishop enjoyed viewing the 70th anniversary memorabilia that was on display and joining parishioners for an outdoor celebration that included refreshments, socializing and taking photos.
In a message to his parishioners, Father Noche spoke of how “humbled and filled with thanksgiving” he was to have had the opportunity to serve as pastor of Our Lady Queen of Peace, which is “known to many as that little white country church in Hainesport.
While a lot has changed in the past 70 years, “what has not changed is our love for God, our love for our Blessed Mother Mary and our commitment to one another,” Father Noche said. “We have always been there for each other… in good times and in bad… and in times of need. These are the things that will never change because this is the mission and vision of our parish.”
