Funeral services will be held Sept. 9 in Assisi House, Aston, Pa., for Franciscan Sister Mary Louise Heinle who died Sept. 5. She was 94.

A Christian wake service will be at 9:30 a.m. and the Mass of the Christian Burial will follow at 11. The services will be livestreamed.

Sister Mary Louise, formerly Sister Kathleen Joseph, was born in Baltimore. She entered the Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia in 1947 and professed her first vows in 1949. She earned a bachelor’s degree in education from Villanova University, Villanova, Pa, and ministered primarily in elementary and secondary education. Her teaching experience included 62 years in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, one year in the Diocese of Allentown, Pa., and 10 years in St. Anthony High School, Hamilton, in the Diocese of Trenton. Sister Mary Louise also served in prayer and hospitality ministry in Assisi House, where she lived at the time of her death.

Sister Mary Louise is survived by several nieces and nephews and their families and her Franciscan community. Burial will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery in Aston. Donations in her name can be made to the Sisters of St. Francis Foundation, 609 S. Convent Road, Aston, Pa., 19014.
