Ten years ago on Oct. 29, 2012, Superstorm Sandy made landfall, devastating a significant portion of the East Coast. Areas that were severely impacted by the storm included Jersey Shore towns in Monmouth and Ocean Counties in the Diocese of Trenton. Scores of residents, including many parishioners, sustained irreparable damage to their homes and personal belongings, and a number of parishes and schools suffered structural damage that took weeks, if not months, to rebuild or repair. Yet, in the midst of the devastation, the presence of Christ was made known in countless ways through outreach  by the many who offered assistance and provided comfort to those in need on local, state and national levels.

Today, The Monitor commemorates the ten-year anniversary of Superstorm Sandy, by sharing a sampling of the stories of faith, hope and love.
