Covering Respect Life Month and much more

The October issue of The Monitor Magazine brings special focus to Respect Life Month and its theme this year, “Called to Serve Moms in Need.”  Our special section begins with a message from Bishop David M. O’Connell, C.M., in which he encourages his flock to “join hands and hearts with ‘Moms in Need’ and ‘journey’ with them.

Look for lots of good information on resources for pregnant and parenting women facing difficult circumstances, as well as our LIFE SAVERS stories of people and programs who are working to help vulnerable pregnant women, as well as those who need hope and healing after choosing abortion. You’ll find reporting on plans this year around the March for Life, both nationally and locally, and suggestion on how you can build a culture of life, starting right now.

This month’s COVER and SPECIAL REPORT documents the devastation and heartbreak wrought by Hurricane Ian, and efforts by Church agencies across Florida to assist residents most profoundly impacted.  The Monitor will continue to report updates on TrentonMonitor.com.

Your new magazine issue also includes The Monitor’s annual High School Showcase, and a collection of reports and messages in advance of World Mission Sunday, which, with the theme: “You Shall Be My Witnesses,” will be observed throughout the Church on Oct. 23

There are pages of content to keep you informed of developments on the Synod; the Annual Catholic Appeal; and convocations for priests and parish leaders.  Here are other stories you won’t want to miss:

  • Reflection on Marianite Sister Suellen Tennyson following her release by captors in Burkina Faso
  • Mount Holly deacon works to build Holocaust awareness through a special series on Anne Frank
  • Spring Lake parishioner produces a YouTube documentary of his pilgrimage along the Camino de Santiago, or Way of St. James
  • In youth news:preparing for World Youth Day; building spirituality and community through Catholic Athletes for Christ.

The October print edition has been mailed to all PREMIUM SUBSCRIBERS and the digital edition link has been sent to their inboxes. Subscribers also have unlimited access to all content on TrentonMonitor.com. Not yet a subscriber? Sign up today safely and conveniently by clicking HERE, or writing to [email protected].
