After four days of rain and storm surge, the Jersey Shore has also been hard hit by flooding, as shown in this photo by Franciscan Father Fran DiSpigno, pastor of St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Long Beach Island. The Diocese has encouraged pastors to report any property damage sustained as a result of rain and flooding associated with the residual hurricane effects.
“Please join me in praying for victims of the storm and in recommending to your parishioners to contribute to Hurricane Ian relief efforts through Catholic Charities USA – visit catholiccharitiesusa.org,” Bishop O’Connell said.
