Funeral services were held April 25 in Assisi House, Aston, Pa., for Franciscan Sister Kathleen Mary Winkelman who died April 18. She was 86.

A professed member of the Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia for 66 years, she entered the congregation in 1954 and professed her first vows in 1956. She held a bachelor’s degree in English from Mount St. Mary College and a master’s degree from St. Michael University. She ministered primarily in elementary education and religious education for children and adults.

In the Diocese of Trenton, Sister Kathleen Mary taught in St. Michael Orphanage, Hopewell. Her other assignments included the Archdioceses of Philadelphia, Washington and Baltimore, and the Dioceses of Venice, Fla., and Wilmington, Del.

Sister Kathleen Marie is survived by a sister-in-law, several nieces and nephews and their families and her Franciscan family.

Burial was in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Aston. Memorial donations may be made to the Sisters of St. Francis Foundation, 609 S. Convent Road., Aston, PA 19014.
