Bishop among clergy to hear Confessions at Notre Dame

During the Fourth Week of Lent, students in Notre Dame High School, Lawrenceville, were given the opportunity to participate in the Sacrament of Reconciliation. At the invitation of NDHS chaplain, Father Jason Parzynski, Bishop David M. O’Connell, C.M., and priests from across the Diocese of Trenton visited the school to hear the students’ Confessions for about an hour each day.
A Reconciliation service was held for the students prior to receiving the Sacrament of Penance. While participation was voluntary, most of the school’s Catholic community took part in the services offered throughout the week as part of their Lenten journey.
“Notre Dame’s student population is about 80 percent Catholic,” Father Parzynski mentioned to the students who assembled in the auditorium waiting for confessions to begin March 29. “And 70 percent of them took the opportunity to share in the Sacrament of Penance, a great way to prepare for Easter.”
