Funeral services are scheduled for June 9 and June 10 in St. Joseph Church, Toms River, for Cynthia Marie Shaffer Woodington who died June 2 at age 67.

Mrs. Woodington was the sister of Father Scott Shaffer, pastor of St. Joseph Parish, Toms River.

A resident of Millstone Township for most of her adult life, she was an active volunteer in her community as well as surrounding towns. She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Parish, Hightstown, where she taught third grade religious education for many years. At Rise Community Partnership, she participated in sorting and distributing donated clothing to Hightstown residents in need. She also cooked for and delivered meals through Meals on Wheels.

Mrs. Woodington was the founder and owner of Perfect Blend Catering company. Specializing in high tea parties and dinners, she catered numerous fundraising, appreciation and other events in her parish as well as St. Aloysius Parish, Jackson, and St. Joseph Parish.

In addition to Father Shaffer, Mrs. Woodington was survived by her husband, Robert Woodington; one son; two grandsons; another brother and two sisters-in-law, as well as a other family members and friends.

Viewing hours will be from 5 to 8 p.m. June 9 in St. Joseph Church, 685 Hooper Ave., Toms River. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. June 10. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery and Mausoleum, 56 Cedar Rd., Toms River.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Parkinson.org. Donations to the John L. Shaffer Scholarship Fund or St. Joseph Food Pantry may be sent to St. Joseph Church 685 Hooper Street, Toms River, N.J. 08753, Attn: Father Scott Shaffer. Be sure to indicate the charity in the subject line of the check.
