Father John Scully, a priest for 50 years, dies
Bishop David M. O'Connell, C.M., announced July 30 the death of Father John Scully earlier that day in Lawrenceville.

A retired priest of the Diocese, Father Scully celebrated the 50th anniversary of his priestly ordination on May 20. He was ordained May 20, 1972 in St. Mary of the Assumption Cathedral, Trenton, by Bishop George W. Ahr. He retired in 2015 after having served as pastor of St. Clement Parish, Matawan, for 18 years.
