A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated April 8 for Sara J. Blue, former Trenton Diocesan PTA president, who died March 17 at the Granite VNA Hospice House in Concord, N.H. She was 104.

Mrs. Blue was born in New Brunswick, in 1918, and married her husband, Ross, in 1937. They lived in the New Brunswick area before settling into their family home in Milltown, where they raised five children. Mrs. Blue was a homemaker and spent much of her time volunteering at Our Lady of Lourdes School, Milltown, including starting the school’s first library.

She was president of the school’s PTA for two years before becoming the PTA Regent of the New Brunswick region. Following the regency, she became president of the Trenton Diocesan Council of PTA, and their 2015 yearbook was dedicated to her.

Mrs. Blue later moved to The Club in East Brunswick in retirement until deciding to move to Hopkinton, N.H., in 2014 to be closer to her family.

Mrs. Blue is predeceased by her parents, husband, three siblings, a daughter and son-in-law and a daughter-in-law. She is survived by her children, Jane Blue; Ross Blue, Jr.; Jill Chadwick (Gregg), and Gery Blue; 11 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

Funeral Mass will be in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 233 North Main St., Milltown. Interment will immediately follow at Greenwood Cemetery, 707 School House Rd., Brielle.

In lieu of flowers, donations are encouraged to one’s charity of choice or the Granite VNA Hospice House, 30 Pillsbury St., Concord, NH 03301 or online at www.granitevna.org/donate.
