Polish retreat focuses on St. Joseph, King David and eternal life

A Lenten retreat for the faithful of Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish, Lakewood, was offered in Polish the weekend of March 19-21.
Held in the Holy Family Church worship site and livestreamed on the parish Youtube page, the retreat was preached by Divine Word Father Jan Pastuszczak, parochial vicar. During the three days, faithful prayed the Stations of the Cross, joined in the celebration of Masses and heard insightful teachings.
The first day of the retreat focused on the life of St. Joseph, husband of the Blessed Virgin Mary, foster father of Jesus and patron of the Universal Church who, according to Father Pastuszczak, never lost his trust in God.
The second day focused on stories of King David and participants had time to discern how they could relate King David’s experiences to their own lives.
On Sunday, participants reflected on the question: “Do I believe that when I die, I will see God's face?” and then heard Scripture passages proclaimed by Father Pastuszczak to help them find answers.
“We all see the need for a retreat, and we are grateful to Father Jan, for this desire to win souls for Christ. We believe that the Word of God, sown in our hearts, will bear fruit a hundredfold,” said Divine Word Father Guilherme Andrino, also a parish parochial vicar.
