The diocesan Office of Vocations is inviting young men ages 15 – 40 to join on a pilgrimage to the National Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa in Doylestown, Pa., August 7. The day will provide an opportunity for men who are discerning the priesthood to take time away from the busyness of their daily schedule to hear and reflect on the unique and beautiful invitation from Our Lord.

Bus transportation will be arranged, and men can embark from the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold, at 8 a.m., or the diocesan Chancery, 701 Lawrenceville Road, Lawrenceville, at 9 a.m.

Opened in 1955, the mission of the National Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa is to bring people of many nationalities and cultures closer to Jesus Christ through the intercession and devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary. The Pauline Fathers and Brothers are guardians and protectors of the “Black Madonna” icon of Mary and the infant Jesus, of Czestochowa, Poland.

The pilgrimage is free of charge. Lunch will be provided. Space is limited; to register, contact the Office of Vocations at [email protected] or 609-406-7448. For further information, see www.GodIsCallingYOU.org.

The pilgrimage is one of several events planned for men discerning the priesthood. Most recently, the Office of Vocations held a Mass and barbeque with Bishop David M. O’Connell, C.M. June 29.
