Domestic Church Radio features diocesan priests on vocations
July 2, 2021 at 10:02 p.m.
The Diocese of Trenton continued its efforts to promote vocations to the priesthood and religious life July 2 on “The Shepherd’s Voice,” WFJS Domestic Church Radio (89.3 FM and 1260 AM).
Fr. Jason Parzynski, diocesan director of vocations, was joined by Fr. Stanley “Stosh” Lukaszewski, retired pastor of St. Barnabas Parish in Bayville and Fr. David Swantek, current pastor of St. Martha Parish in Point Pleasant, to talk about their experiences in discerning their own vocations and lives as priest.
With a mixture of humor and great stories, all three priests encouraged young Catholics to consider priesthood and religious life as a “normal” and happy life. Wide-ranging topics from developing a priestly spirituality, seminary life, enjoying nature and hobbies, entering into the lives of their parishioners especially in times of need, made for interesting listening.
“Being yourself and bringing yourself to Christ, opening yourself to his call” were major themes in the discussion.
“The Shepherd’s Voice” is broadcast on First Fridays at 3 pm with encore presentations on Saturdays at 4 pm, Sundays at 10 am and Mondays at 8 pm. For information on vocations in the Diocese of Trenton, visit Godiscallingyou.org.
