Tuesday, Feb. 16, 9-11 p.m. EST (PBS) "The Black Church: This Is Our Story, This Is Our Song." First half of a two-part miniseries exploring the 400-year-old history of the Black Church in America. Those interviewed include Oprah Winfrey, John Legend, Jennifer Hudson and Cornel West. Professor Henry Louis Gates Jr. hosts. The series concludes Wednesday, Feb. 17, 9-11 p.m. EST (check local listings) (TV-14 – parents strongly cautioned).

In Rome, Pope Francis leads the penitential procession from the Church of St. Anselm to the Basilica of Santa Sabina, followed by Holy Mass and the blessing and imposition of ashes (TV-G – general audience).
Wednesday, Feb. 17, 10-11 p.m. EST (A&E) "I Survived a Crime." First two back-to-back episodes of a new series that examines the real-life experience of becoming the victim of a sudden crime.
