St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish, Bradley Beach, will host a St. Teresa Feast Day Festival Sept. 6, beginning with a 2 p.m. Mass on the lawn at Ascension Church. The Mass will be followed by festivities in the church parking lot from 3 to 6 p.m., including live music, food trucks and activities.

“This is a special event for our parish for a few reasons,” Kathleen McGrorry, parish youth coordinator, said, noting that it is the goal that the day will be the start of “a tradition of celebrating  the parish’s patron saint’s feast day together as well as to celebrate the successful merge of the churches of St. Elizabeth of Hungary and Ascension.

“The festival is also a way to thank all the parishioners for their continued support and generosity throughout the COVID pandemic,” McGrorry continued. “Our good people were still thriving in practicing Catholic social justice by helping one another and our surrounding communities during this time. It was quite unbelievable to see,” she said. The parish community will be “celebrating the good news of our accomplishments over the past few years.”

Ascension Church is located at 501 Brinley Ave., Bradley Beach.
