Men interested in learning more about the diaconate formation program are invited to two information sessions being offered in the coming weeks.

The sessions will run from 7 to 9 p.m. Sept. 22 and Oct. 8 in the Bishop Ahr Conference Room of the Diocesan Chancery, 701 Lawrenceville Road, Lawrenceville.

Attendance at one of the sessions is a prerequisite for receiving an application. Participants must pre-register with Msgr. Thomas Mullelly, diocesan vicar for clergy and consecrated life and director of seminarians, and have discussed their interest in the diaconate program with their pastor.   

The sessions are being sponsored by the diocesan Office of Clergy and Consecrated Life. To register, call 609-403-7181 or email Msgr. Mullelly at [email protected].

Among the requirements for the permanent diaconate formation program, men must: be a fully initiated Latin Rite Roman Catholic whose lifestyle is consistent with the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church; have a strong desire to serve the Christian community and possess a proven record or successful service as a leader in his parish; have completed his 32nd year and not be older than 62 years of age at the time of entry into the formation program.
