The Performing and Visual Arts Department in Notre Dame High School, Lawrenceville, will hold a virtual spring arts festival May 28 starting at 6 p.m. The festival may be viewed on the school website, Facebook page and Youtube channel.

“We have some really amazing young artists at Notre Dame and we are excited to still be able to share their talent and hard work digitally with the community,” said Brittany Brydges-Neely, a member of the visual arts faculty. “It is an absolute joy to see their creativity and ingenuity. Above all, I am so proud of them as both young artists and as people; they are the reason I love my job.”

The visual art show, which begins at 6 p.m., will feature a selection of artwork created by students across many art disciplines including drawing, painting, ceramics, digital and photography. The show also showcases the portfolios of senior AP art students.

Following the visual arts show, the Performing Arts Department will host a spring concert entitled “Springtime on Broadway” starting at 7:30 p.m. The concert will include performances from "Les Miserables," "Little Woman," "Little Shop of Horrors," "Sunset Boulevard," "Guys and Dolls" and "Beauty and the Beast," the musical that had been scheduled for this spring but was canceled after the first weekend due to the issuance of stay-at-home orders.

“Seniors, juniors and sophomores will be able to perform in a variety of song and dance performances,” said Lou Gibilisco, Notre Dame’s performing arts director. “This is an opportunity to showcase our students’ talent and allow them to give something back to the community.”
