Chrism Mass closed to public but will be livestreamed; televised Easter Mass to be shown; Blue Mass canceled

On Easter Sunday, the Diocese will again post the video from the 2018 televised Easter Mass celebrated by Bishop O’Connell in St. Catharine Church, Spring Lake.The site, with its neoclassical architecture and interior artwork reflective of the Renaissance period, provided the backdrop for the Mass of the Resurrection of the Lord, which was taped by the Diocese’s Department of Multimedia Production for use on national broadcast networks in 2018 and 2019.The Mass has been seen by millions of viewers on television and online, and will again be available on the Diocese’s digital sites April 12, Easter Sunday morning.

The Diocese also announced that the 21st Annual Mass for Law Enforcement, which was originally scheduled for April 21, will be canceled due to coronavirus restrictions. Organizers of the event, also known as the Blue Mass, report that they will attempt to reschedule for the coming Fall.
