Abstinence educator Pam Stenzel returning to Diocese

During the 90-minute presentation, Stenzel will use her pregnancy counseling experience, as well as her personal story, to help educate teens about true intimacy and the consequences of sexual activity outside of marriage.
“I’ve realized that we have a lot of teenagers out there making decisions about sex having no idea – none – what the consequence of that choice will be,” Stenzel said during a previous visit to the Diocese.
Reflecting on Stenzel’s visit, Dan Waddington, director of the diocesan department of Youth and Young Adult Ministries, said, “Her message on chastity is so important, is rooted in our faith, and she is not afraid to share the hard truths that are often left unsaid.
“It is our hope that the young people who hear Pam will come away feeling strengthened in their ability to make good moral decisions as they work to be the person God calls them to be,” he said.
The presentation, sponsored by the department of Youth and Young Adult Ministries, will span three days. Morning presentations are closed events held in area schools; evening presentations are open to the public.
• March 30, Holy Cross Academy, Rumson; and 7 p.m., Holy Family Church, Lakewood.
• April 2, Trenton Catholic Academy, Hamilton; and 7 p.m., St. Gregory the Great Church, Hamilton Square.
• April 3, Red Bank Catholic High School, Red Bank; and 7 p.m., Nativity Church, Fair Haven.
Stenzel, who is founder of Enlighten Communications Inc., has a degree in psychology from Liberty University, Lynchburg, Va., and served as a member of the National Abstinence Clearinghouse Advisory Board. The former director of the Alpha Women’s Center in Prior Lake, Minn., Stenzel now takes her message to teens and parents in the United States and abroad.
She participated in former President George W. Bush’s Faith-Based and Community Initiatives meeting held at the White House in 2001, and has been a guest on numerous national TV and radio programs.
