The Department of Youth and Young Adult Ministries will offer a “Blueprint for Joy” retreat to help young adults ages 18 to 39 get the most out of Lent.

The second annual retreat is scheduled for March 7 in Mary, Mother of the Church Parish’s St. Mary Church worship site, 45 Crosswicks St., Bordentown, beginning at 10 a.m.

The retreat will feature two keynote addresses by Dominican Father John Paul Walker as well as Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, the opportunity for Confession and the celebration of Mass at 3:30 p.m.

“The retreat will help attendees find joy in their lives and [discover] how truly following and living our faith leads us to the joy Christ offers,” said Dan Waddington, director of the diocesan Department of Youth and Young Adult Ministries.

Registration is $20 which includes lunch. To register in advance, visit dotyouth.org/youngadultretreat, or contact Angelica Gomez at 609-403-7182.

Father Walker was ordained to the priesthood in 2002 and earned a master’s of divinity degree and a licentiate in sacred theology from the Pontifical Faculty of the Immaculate Conception, Washington. He is active in pro-life issues, has ministered as a Navy chaplain and rejuvenated young adult and campus ministry at universities in Rhode Island, Washington and Baltimore. Father Walker currently serves as pastor of St. Mary Parish, New Haven, Conn., the mother church of the Knights of Columbus.
