Deacon Thomas A. Genovese of St. Joseph Parish, Toms River, dies

Deacon Thomas A. Genovese died Dec. 6 at his home in Manchester. He was 77.
Born in Brooklyn, Deacon Genovese grew up in East Windsor, and later lived in Toms River and Manchester for many years. He was an Army Veteran having served during the Vietnam War working at the Pentagon. Later, he was employed as a manager with McGraw Hill Publishing where he worked for 45 years. He was ordained a deacon May 9, 2009 by Bishop John M. Smith in St. Mary of the Assumption Cathedral, Trenton, and had since served in St. Joseph Parish.
Deacon Genovese was predeceased by his granddaughter Jessica Rose Genovese. He is survived by his wife, Diane; two sons, John and Michael Genovese, and four grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held in St. Joseph Church in January at a date yet to be determined. Condolences can be sent to www.carmonabolenfh.com.
